On-site Wastewater
Rural development outside municipal boundaries is not able to access city-operated water delivery and sewage collection infrastructure. These homes require on-site wastewater systems to treat their sewage. Martin Land Services will perform the necessary site evaluations to design an on-site treatment system for your property's soil and topographic conditions.
The EPA estimates more than 1 in 5 households (over 60 million people) treat their wastewater with an on-site wastewater treatment system, and Circle of Blue estimates over 1/3 of Montana's homes require on-site septic treatment. Septic systems that are properly designed, sited, installed, and maintained can provide excellent, long-term treatment of domestic wastewater. In Montana, these systems are regulated by the Department of Environment Quality and local health departments.
